Anti-Ragging Policy

DST Group of Institutions maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in all its forms. We are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment where every student feels secure, valued, and empowered to learn and grow.

🔒 Definition of Ragging

Ragging includes any act of physical or psychological abuse, harassment, intimidation, or humiliation directed at a student by another student or group of students. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Verbal or physical abuse, teasing, or bullying
  • Forcing students to perform humiliating or dangerous acts
  • Disrupting academic or personal life through threats or coercion
  • Any behaviour that violates the dignity and rights of an individual

📜 Legal Framework

This policy is in strict accordance with the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and relevant guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

🛡️ Preventive Measures

  • Anti-Ragging Committees and Squads are constituted in each institution to monitor and prevent incidents.
  • Awareness programs are conducted regularly for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Undertakings are obtained from students and parents at the time of admission, affirming their commitment to a ragging-free campus.
  • Surveillance and mentoring systems are in place to support new students and ensure their well-being.

⚖️ Disciplinary Action

Any student found guilty of ragging shall face strict disciplinary action, which may include:

  • Suspension or expulsion from the institution
  • Cancellation of admission
  • Withholding of scholarships or academic results
  • Legal action as per the Indian Penal Code and UGC regulations

📞 Reporting Mechanism

Students are encouraged to report any incident of ragging without fear. Complaints can be made:

  • Directly to the Anti-Ragging Committee or Squad
  • Through the institutional helpline or email

Rules and Regulations for Students

DST Group of Institutions is committed to maintaining a disciplined, respectful, and academically enriching environment. All students are expected to adhere to the following rules and regulations during their tenure at the institution:

1. 🎓 Academic Conduct

  • Students must attend all classes, practical sessions, and examinations regularly and punctually.
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory in each subject to be eligible for examinations.
  • Academic dishonesty, including cheating, plagiarism, or impersonation, is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.

2. 🧑‍⚖️ Discipline and Behavior

  • Students are expected to maintain decorum, dignity, and respectful behavior within the campus and during clinical postings.
  • Any form of ragging, harassment, or bullying is strictly prohibited and punishable under the Anti-Ragging Policy.
  • Use of abusive language, violence, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

3. 🧥 Dress Code

  • Students must wear the prescribed uniform and identity card during academic hours and clinical training.
  • Personal grooming and hygiene must be maintained at all times, especially in healthcare settings.

4. 📵 Use of Mobile Phones and Gadgets

  • Mobile phones must be switched off or kept on silent mode during lectures, practicals, and in the library.
  • Unauthorized use of electronic devices during examinations or academic sessions is strictly prohibited.

5. 🏥 Clinical and Laboratory Etiquette

  • Students must follow all safety protocols and ethical guidelines during practical and clinical training.
  • Any damage to laboratory equipment or hospital property due to negligence will be charged to the student.

6. 🏠 Hostel and Campus Conduct

  • Hostel residents must follow the hostel rules and timings strictly.
  • Unauthorized absence from the hostel or campus without prior permission is not allowed.
  • Possession or consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or narcotics is strictly forbidden and will lead to immediate disciplinary action.

7. 💼 Leave and Absence

  • All leave requests must be submitted in writing and approved by the concerned authority.
  • Prolonged absence without permission may lead to cancellation of admission or disqualification from examinations.

8. 💳 Fees and Financial Obligations

  • Students must pay all tuition and institutional fees on time as per the notified schedule.
  • Late payment may attract penalties or suspension of academic privileges.

9. 📚 Library and Resource Use

  • Students must maintain silence and discipline in the library.
  • Books must be returned on or before the due date to avoid fines.

10. 🛡️ General Compliance

  • Students must comply with all institutional policies, circulars, and notices issued from time to time.


Any violation of rules may result in warning, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
